Our Services

Mechanically Polished Concrete (MPC)

Overview

This premium system of polished concrete is the most involved. The concrete will initially be ground back with various grits of diamond tooling to achieve the desired amount of stone exposure. The concrete is then grouted and chemically hardened with densifiers.

Polishing resins are then used in various grits to achieve the desired sheen level. Colour enhancing penetrating sealer is then applied and once dry the floor is completed with a high-speed buffing machine. Typically the floor can be walked on within 4 hours of completion.

Grind and Seal

Overview

This is your mid-level system of polished concrete. For some older slabs this is sometimes the only option available. The concrete will initially be ground back with various grits of diamond tooling to achieve the desired amount of stone exposure. The concrete is then grouted and cleaned in preparation for sealer.

Topical sealers are then applied. Different sealers will be used for different concrete types in different conditions. Typically the floor will need to dry for 48 hours after completion to allow the sealer to dry enough for foot traffic. Some sealers require one week to harden before heavy items can be placed on top of them.

This Finnish is Customizable with such an impressively large variety of coloured aggregates to compliment any environment, it is quite definitely in a class of its own, offering a stunning, versatile finish that will last for many lifetimes.

Coating Removal, Tile, Laminate,
Glue Removal

Overview

ACS will firstly assess and install appropriate dust control measures as required. We have many vacuums, ducted fans and even a large air cube unit which sucks dust out of the air and filters it through a HEPA filter.

Old coatings or glues can be ground off and dust is collected into vacuum bags which are safely disposed of. Tiles / laminate / wooden floors can be removed and safely disposed of also.

Floor Preparation,
Repair & Restoration
Of Concrete Surfaces

Overview

Some concrete floors just are not up to scratch. They may be rain affected, damaged with chips and cracks, have faded coloured oxide or be covered with glues or other contaminants. ACS has all the equipment and knowledge to prepare your concrete floor for a new lease of life.

Restoring concrete can often be far less expensive than complete replacement.

Proper floor preparation is key to success when it comes to painting concrete floors. Acid washing may not be a suitable way to prepare a concrete slab for painting which is why we often prefer to grind a slab in preparation for painting.

Epoxy & DecorativeFlake

Overview

ACS offer a full service for preparing and installing concrete sealers, epoxy paints and decorative flake epoxy finishes. We understand that preparation is the key for longevity in painted concrete flooring so the utmost of care is taken to prepare a floor for a painted or sealed coating. Outside concrete areas such as driveways and pathways can be sealed with tinted sealer and grip additives can be used to provide additional grip if desired.

Indoor areas such as garages and sheds can be painted with Epoxy and Decorative Flake Epoxy coatings which come in many different colour options. These coatings are very easy to maintain and to prevent oils and contaminants from leaching into the concrete beneath.

Control Joints – To Help Control Cracking

Control Joints, otherwise called Articulation Joints are put into concrete to help control where concrete cracks. ACS offers installation of control joints and also caulking of control joints which can be silicone or polyurethane.

Control Joints can be installed in a decorative fashion if desired. ACS also offers a service to remove and replace old caulking and repairs to damaged edges of control joints.

Pool Coping

Overview

ACS offers new pool coping and replacement of existing pool coping. We can either create a modern Drop Face pool coping which protrudes into the pool or we can create a Honed and Sealed concrete deck around the pool area butting up to a tiled or paved pool coping.

ACS offer a complete service of preparation, pouring, honing and sealing for pool and decking areas. Many concrete colours are available and we work with a number of local concrete suppliers so colour options are not so limited.
